Whether it’s floor leveling in Vancouver or installing mosaic tile, the surfaces we walk on deserve more attention. Floors are often overlooked as we stride across them day after day. But artistic mosaic tile floors and illuminated glass floors transform the spaces we walk on into breathtaking works of art underfoot. The intricate craftsmanship involved in installing these floors elevates them from utilitarian to artistic creations, even in Vancouver or any other part of Canada.

History and Origins of Mosaic and Glass Floors

The use of mosaic and tile floors first flourished in ancient Rome, Greece and among medieval Middle Eastern civilizations. Tiny tiles and stones were painstakingly assembled into stunning patterns and images of religious, cultural or aesthetic significance. This tradition later spread across Europe, with mosaic floors becoming integral architectural elements of medieval cathedrals, palaces, and mosques. More modern applications have brought this ancient floor art form into contemporary homes, offices, hotels and public spaces around the world.

Craftsmanship and Technique of Mosaic Floors

Creating a mosaic floor begins with thoughtful material selection – tiles, glass, stone, and other media are chosen to enact the design. Mosaic tiles get embedded in cement or mortar subfloors, allowing precise placement of the materials. The mosaic artist must have a complex pattern or design mapped out before starting the meticulous installation, including steps like:

  • Cutting and fitting the tiles closely together
  • Grouting the installation for stability
  • Spending weeks or months installing elaborate floors by hand

Yet these artisanal techniques have endured for centuries, a testament to the skill and care required for mosaic floor artistry.

Unique Qualities of Glass Floors

Glass floors offer their own modern twist, incorporating illuminated or transparent glass into stunning floor vistas. Thin layers of strong glass can be installed over LED lighting, causing the floor to glitter and glow. Sections of glass tiles can also alternate with stone tiles in abstract patterns. Some glass floors embed intricate glass sculpture accents or found objects to become works of art underfoot. Cutting edge “river” glass floors use thick, tempered glass panels to create a flowing water or ice effect. The seamless installations range from clear to frosted or tinted glass.

Examples of Striking Mosaic and Glass Floors

Legendary examples persist across the centuries, from historic sites like cathedrals, mosques, and palaces featuring mosaic floors to modern installations in contemporary homes, offices, and public spaces. These floors showcase:

  • Artistic use of color, shape, and materials
  • Custom designs that completely transform spaces

Some specific examples include the 5th century mosaics of Ravenna, Italy and the 20,000 square feet of mosaic floors in India’s Ranakpur Jain Temple completed in 1439. In Turin, the tree of life motif gracing the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist took over 60 artisans to complete. These diverse floors demonstrate how creativity and skill can turn spaces into enduring art.

Artistic Impact and Aesthetic Value

Beyond their beauty, mosaic and glass art floors have profound artistic impact and aesthetic value including:

  • Texture, depth, and visual interest underfoot
  • Craftsmanship on display as a functional art form
  • Ability to match creative visions or patterns
  • Making bold statements about luxury, beauty, and uniqueness

The intricate artistry transforms the floor into far more than a utilitarian surface. The artistic possibilities are endless, with any pattern, shape, color, or material able to be adapted into a custom mosaic design. As an artistic medium, these floors can make personal statements and cement specific decorative styles.

Conclusion

Overall, the legacy of mosaic and glass art floors confirms that flooring can ascend to the level of fine art. The artisanship involved, the intricacy of design, and the meaning imparted turn these floors into something beyond functional building materials. Their beauty underlines how walking across a work of art can be part of our daily lives and spaces. This ancient floor medium continues to inspire modern interpretations and artistic innovation. Mosaic and glass floors assert that what we tread upon can also be what we admire.

Double doors have always been considered a timeless architectural feature, adding a touch of elegance and grandeur to any space. Besides their aesthetic appeal, double doors serve a practical purpose, providing both functionality and convenience. This article explores how double doors can enhance your interior design, seamlessly combining function and style to create a harmonious living environment.

Enhancing Visual Appeal

Double doors create a stunning first impression, elevating the aesthetic appeal of your home or office. They add a sense of grandeur and sophistication, instantly enhancing the overall visual appeal of the space.

Moreover, double doors with glass panels allow abundant natural light to flow into the room, making it appear brighter and more inviting. The illumination can help create an open and airy atmosphere, amplifying the visual appeal of your interior design.

Improving Functionality

Double doors provide a wider entryway, making it easier to move furniture and accommodate high foot traffic. This enhanced accessibility contributes to a more functional and practical living space.

During pleasant weather conditions, double doors can be opened wide, allowing for excellent cross-ventilation and improved air circulation. This not only helps maintain a fresh and comfortable indoor environment but also reduces reliance on artificial cooling systems.

Exploring Versatile Design Options

Double doors come in various materials, styles, and finishes, allowing you to tailor them to match your interior design preferences. Whether you prefer rustic wooden doors, sleek modern designs, or ornate glass paneling, there are options to suit every style.

These doors can seamlessly blend with your existing interior design elements, acting as a focal point or complementing other architectural features. They can be customized to match the color palette, texture, and overall theme of the room, enhancing its visual cohesion.

Creating a Spatial Illusion

Double doors can create an optical illusion of expanded space, especially in smaller rooms or narrow hallways. Opening up the area and allowing light to pass through can make a confined space appear larger and more open, giving an impression of spaciousness.

Furthermore, double doors leading to an outdoor area, such as a patio or garden, blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces. This connection fosters a sense of harmony and expands your living area, perfect for entertaining guests or enjoying a tranquil setting.

Things to Consider When Installing Double Doors

When installing double doors to improve your interiors, there are several tips you can follow to ensure a successful and visually appealing outcome. Consider the following guidelines:

1. Accurate Measurements

Before purchasing or installing double doors, it’s crucial to measure the opening accurately. Ensure that the dimensions are precise to avoid any gaps or misalignments. Taking precise measurements will help you choose the right-sized doors and ensure a seamless fit within your space.

2. Selecting the Right Style

Select double doors that complement your interior design theme. Choose doors that align with your overall aesthetic, whether you prefer traditional, modern, rustic, or contemporary styles. Consider paneling, material, and finishes to ensure a cohesive look with your existing décor.

3. Optimizing Functionality

Assess your needs and select double doors that provide the desired level of functionality. Consider features like swing direction, door handles, and locks. Additionally, if privacy is a concern, consider options like frosted glass or blinds for the door panels.

4. Coordinating with Existing Architectural Elements

Consider the existing architectural elements in the room where you plan to install the double doors. Ensure that the doors’ style, color, and finish harmonize with other elements such as flooring, trim, and window frames. This coordination will create a unified and visually pleasing interior design.

5. Maximizing Natural Light

If you want to enhance natural lighting, choose double doors with glass panels. These doors will allow ample sunlight to enter the room, brightening the space and creating a welcoming ambiance. Consider the orientation of the doors to ensure optimal light penetration.

6. Considering Room Layout and Traffic Flow

Double doors can impact the flow of traffic within a room. Ensure that the doors open in a direction that doesn’t obstruct the movement of furniture or foot traffic. For high-traffic areas, consider installing doors that open outward to maximize space.

7. Seeking Professional Installation

Installing double doors can be complex, so it’s often best to rely on professional installers. They have the expertise and tools to ensure precise alignment, proper hardware installation, and smooth operation. Hiring professionals will save you time, effort, and potential errors.

8. Enhancing with Suitable Hardware

Choose door hardware that complements the style and finish of your double doors. Consider options such as decorative handles, hinges, and locks that add a touch of elegance and functionality. Ensure that the hardware aligns with the overall aesthetic of the room.

9. Maintaining Consistency

If you plan to install double doors in multiple areas of your home or office, strive for consistency in design. Maintaining a consistent style, material, or finish throughout the space will create a cohesive and harmonious interior design.

10. Regular Maintenance

Once installed, double doors require regular maintenance to keep them in optimal condition. Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for cleaning and upkeep, such as periodic lubrication of hinges and checking for any signs of wear or damage. Regular maintenance will ensure that your double doors continue to enhance your interior design for years.

Final Thoughts

Double doors offer unique style and functionality, transforming your interior design in remarkable ways. Their visual appeal, improved accessibility, and versatility make them an excellent addition to any space.

Whether you seek to create a grand entrance, enhance natural lighting, or promote seamless flow between rooms, double doors can elevate your interior design, providing a balance of function and style that truly enhances your living environment.

Wicked Halo is a blog that celebrates the beauty of art and its versatility in humans’ lives. The bloggers feature interviews with inspiring creators from around the world, showcase amazing pieces of art, provide helpful tips and advice from experts in the field, and even have a store where readers can purchase prints for their collection. Art has been around for centuries and has been used to express emotion and tell stories in a variety of different cultures. From the oldest cave paintings to the newest digital forms, its evolution tells an interesting story about how humans have created their own culture over time.

Art from ancient times to the 20th century

Ancient art is one of the most fascinating and awe-inspiring forms in the world. From Egyptian hieroglyphics to Greek sculptures, they have a deep cultural significance that has been respected for centuries. Ancient art often used symbolism to communicate messages or tell stories, making it an important source of information about past cultures and civilizations. For example, Ancient Greek pottery often featured mythological figures and scenes from popular stories, giving us insight into the religious beliefs and values of the time.

It wasn’t until the 16th century that art began to take new shape in the form of painting and sculpture, with masters such as Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Rembrandt. In the 19th century, Impressionism ushered in a new era of creations that focused on light and brush strokes rather than precise detail. This then developed into Post-Impressionism which saw the introduction of abstract expressionism, which has since been adopted by many modern artists.

Moving into the 20th century, art began to take its evolutionary path with a greater focus on technology and new media forms such as photography, video, and interactive installations. This has resulted in a wider range of styles being explored, from Pop to Street Art, with each creator bringing their unique perspective.

Art in the 21st century

As humanity moves through the 21st century, new digital technologies have allowed people to explore art in a way that was never before possible. This has led to the emergence of digital forms such as 3D modeling and animation, virtual reality, and augmented reality. With these tools, creators make stunning visuals that can be interacted with and shared with viewers around the world. The evolution of art over time has allowed us to explore our creativity and share stories in a variety of different ways. From humble beginnings to modern masterpieces, it is constantly evolving, inspiring future generations of creators and allowing them to explore new ideas.

Creations of digital times

The Internet and digital media have exploded, allowing artists to instantly share their work with thousands of potential viewers around the world. Social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr have also been instrumental in helping promote works, connecting fans and collectors alike with works they may never have seen before. Art has become more accessible, allowing a larger audience to appreciate and be exposed to works they may not have been able to in the past.

The increased visibility of creations in today’s society has also opened up opportunities for young aspiring talented people to showcase their work in contemporary galleries or online exhibitions, helping them get recognition and exposure they may not have had before. In addition, new technology has allowed artists to make artworks in innovative ways, using 3D printing, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence. This has also made art more accessible to those without the traditional skills or knowledge required of traditional visual examples.

Can NFT be considered art?

The question of whether NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) can be considered art is a complex and controversial topic. While NFTs are digital tokens that represent ownership of digital assets, they can also represent unique and original pieces of artwork. Some argue that the process of creating an NFT involves a level of creativity and artistic expression, making them a form of digital art. However, others argue that NFTs are not truly art, as they do not have the physicality and presence of traditional artworks. Ultimately, the definition of art is subjective, and whether NFTs can be considered art is up to individual interpretation.

If you’re considering a career in architecture, you may be wondering if it’s a difficult field to study. The answer is that it can be challenging, but also very rewarding. Here’s a look at what you can expect when studying architecture.

Define architecture – it is the art and science of designing buildings and other structures

Architecture is so much more than just designing buildings and other structures – it is an art, a science, and a practice. Architects must be creative in their visions while also possessing technical knowledge of applicable codes and regulations. Architects observe the surrounding environment and analyze how space should be used to maximize function. Oftentimes, the design of a building or structure must serve both aesthetic and practical needs. For example, when designing a workspace for an office complex, architects must consider factors such as convenient space layout, cost efficiency and soundproofing capabilities to ensure that the space meets its purpose and still looks beautiful. The importance of architecture cannot be overlooked – it shapes not only our environment but also our experience within it.

List the skills that are necessary to study architecture – creativity, problem solving, critical thinking, etc.

Studying architecture requires many essential skills, such as creativity, problem solving, and critical thinking. Creativity is a key trait in designing structures that are both aesthetically beautiful and functional; problem solving is necessary to design and build structures that are safe and long-lasting; and critical thinking helps to incorporate structural integrity while avoiding unnecessary costs or safety risks. Other important skills include time management, leadership, interpersonal communication and research capabilities. Architecture students must also have an eye for detail and the ability to accurately draw out ideas on paper. All these qualities come together to create the perfect set of skills necessary to be a successful architecture student.

Describe the education requirements for becoming an architect – a professional degree from an accredited university

Becoming an architect can be a rewarding and engaging career. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to gain a specialized education from an accredited university. Specifically, aspiring architects must obtain a professional degree in architecture or architectural engineering. This program should provide a strong foundation of knowledge in the fundamentals of planning and designing structures, materials used in construction, safety issues and regulations, ethics, sustainability practices, and more. Additionally, students may choose to complete their studies with concentrations such as urban planning or structural engineering. With the proper qualifications, one will have all that they need to build an incredible future in architecture.

Discuss the challenges of studying architecture – long hours, complex projects, tight deadlines

Studying architecture can be quite a challenge, especially for those with high aspirations. Each detail must be carefully considered, with long hours of study and research needed to ensure that the end product is as close to perfection as possible. Not only does this mean dealing with complex projects, but it also means working under tight deadlines in order to meet submission requirements. This often leads to high levels of stress and disappointment if things don’t go as planned. As such, those interested in the field of architecture should come prepared with a lot of patience, diligence and determination if they want to succeed.

Offer tips for success in studying architecture – time management, organization, seeking help when needed

For those seeking success in studying architecture, time management, organization, and proactively seeking help are essential. Utilizing a planner or calendar can help ensure that you stay ahead on reading and assignments. Planning out a routine and sticking to it can help establish achievable daily goals as you progress towards your larger objectives. Organization is also key; dedicating a space for study resources such as textbooks, notes and sketches can prevent major roadblocks in the process of completing an assignment. Finally, don’t be afraid to ask for assistance from professors or peers – many others have gone through similar courses before and experienced what resonates with you. Even if the answer isn’t immediately found, perseverance will see you through!

Becoming an architect takes a lot of hard work and dedication. If you have the necessary skills and are willing to put in the long hours, studying architecture can be a rewarding experience. Be sure to stay organized and manage your time wisely, and don’t be afraid to ask for help when needed. With these tips, you’ll be on your way to success in the field of architecture.

Are you an art student who has been asked to write a research paper? If so, you may be feeling a bit overwhelmed. After all, where do you even begin?

Don’t worry – we’re here to help. In this blog post, we’ll give you some tips on how to write an art research paper that will impress your professor and get you the good grades you deserve. Keep reading to learn more!

How to start your art research paper

Starting a research paper on any subject can be challenging, but particularly so when the topic is something as vast and complex as art. The first step in your art research paper should always be to narrow down the field of study. Consider what medium you want to focus on (painting, sculpture, etc.), the artist or artists that interest you the most, and the geographic region or time period you’d like to explore. With a clearer idea in mind about your chosen topic, it’s time for the next step: do some specific research. This could involve visiting galleries, consulting with experts in the field, sifting through archives and libraries both physical and virtual, and studying existing scholarship. Once all of this information has been collected and interpreted it’s time to start crafting an engaging introduction and thesis statement that will guide your entire paper. With these pieces in place a captivating essay can really shine through!

How to find good sources for your art research paper

When it comes to conducting research for your art research paper, finding reliable sources is essential. It can be tough to know where to start your search; luckily, there are some tips and strategies that can help you find quality sources for your paper. Start by using trusted sources such as published scholarly journals or books from the library. Online news sources, such as articles from reputable websites and reputable magazines could also be a good source of information. If you are strapped for time, you might look into buying a research paper that covers the topic already written by an expert in the field. Regardless of how you get the information, make sure to verify any facts with multiple sources and check the credibility of all references used. By taking these careful steps toward researching your topic, you can feel confident that you have done everything necessary to support your conclusions with reliable evidence.

How to take notes for your art research paper

Taking notes for an art research paper is key to helping gather your thoughts and research in one place. To effectively record all you need for the project, make sure to use a clear organizational style. Start by sorting sources into helpful categories, such as theme or period of time. As you go through the source material write down relevant points that pertain to your paper’s focus. Make sure to also include details such as page numbers from where those facts were pulled so that it is easier to refer back to specific quotes or information within a source. Whenever possible, keep digital records of the sources. Utilizing this type of organization will help you craft your art research paper with confidence and make sure you don’t omit any integral parts of your topic.

How to outline your art research paper

Outlining an art research paper can seem like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be! By simply beginning with the main points, followed by more detail as gradually needed, you can easily organize your ideas into an effective structure. Start by writing a comprehensive statement of the paper’s purpose and the central point or argument that needs to be made. Then consider the related elements of content which you will include to demonstrate this purpose. These facets could involve background information, analysis of works of art, discussion of historical movements, comparison between artists and their works, as well as contextual details regarding surroundings and eras in which they lived. Finally, craft a conclusion that ties together all points stated in the thesis and make sure resources used are granted proper citations. With these easy tips in mind anyone has the ability to articulate their research project clearly!

How to write a draft of your art research paper

Writing a draft of an art research paper can be both exciting and daunting. Before one begins to write, it is important to organize the information that will support the claim in a clear and logical order by outlining key points. One should also look into researching any facts or figures related to their topic to supplement the arguments being made. Additionally, utilizing reliable sources and citing them properly is essential for adding credibility while avoiding any run-ins with plagiarism. Once all of these steps are done, it’s time to begin fulling fleshing out the argument in a draft paper by introducing the topics points in a well-written introduction, backing them up with credible material in the body of the paper, and finally summarizing all major ideas in a concise conclusion. Writing an effective art research paper may take some practice but anyone can create an engaging and impactful paper by devoting themselves to following these steps carefully.

How edit and revise your art research paper

Revising and editing your art research paper is an essential part of the writing process. By investing time in both activities you can help ensure your message is communicated effectively to your reader. Before you even begin to revise, it’s important to read your work carefully and consider whether it effectively answers all the questions you set out to answer. Additionally, consider if any new insights or evidence has come up during the writing process that should be included. After ensuring the accuracy of facts and look for typos, rearrange sentences, phrases and paragraphs where necessary. Is there anything that can be omitted? Maybe it’s time to create a better flow in your argumentation? A final step is to have someone else read your paper and provide feedback. This outside perspective can help identify any errors or areas where clarity is needed before submitting it as final.

Now that you know the basics of how to start your art research paper, it’s time to get down to business. Do some preliminary reading on your topic to get a sense of what sources are available and start taking notes. Once you have a good understanding of your subject matter, begin creating an outline. This will be invaluable when it comes time to write a draft of your paper. Finally, don’t forget to edit and revise your work before submitting it – a littlepolishing can go a long way!

The world is full of beautiful architecture. From ancient to modern, it’s difficult to not be inspired by the variety and creativity in this art. But which architectural styles are the most influential? There are many different types of architecture that define our world; some are unique and interesting, some are popular because they represent a country or region, and some that are simply breathtaking. Here you will read about the 7 most unique architectural styles from around the world.

1. Art Deco is the combination of art and architecture during the “Jazz Age” in France. During this time period, Paris was getting ready to host the World Fair (exposition). The style that Art Deco encompasses is described as having geometric forms, lavish ornamentation, and bold color combinations. The architecture of the time period was mainly focused on crisscrossing girders for roofing, archways, flat roofs (often made with concrete), stylish metalwork on windows and entryways, and much more. They also liked to use strong decorative elements on top of the buildings with intricate carvings. The entire design was made to feel very symmetrical. A great example of this style can be found in “The Chrysler Building” located in New York.

2. Deconstructivism is a style that is very new and not many examples can be found because it was only recognized in the 1990s. This architectural movement is based on the idea of breaking up elements within a building by using angles and jagged edges. Elements such as steel, concrete, and glass are common with this style. Many examples of this style can be found in the new building designs for skyscrapers. One of the most recent and popular is a building called “The Guggenheim Museum” located in Bilbao, Spain which was designed by Frank Gehry. Other great examples include an addition Robbie Antonio did for his home in the Philippines called Villa11 and the “Robbie House” designed by Robert Venturi for his wife.

3. The American Craftsman style refers to a movement that was made very popular by architects in the United States who wanted to focus on handcrafted items rather than mass-produced items. They wanted to focus on the beauty of wood and artistic design.
The American movement was set on returning to the simplicity of an earlier time period which they felt that industrialization had taken away from society. The woodwork and craftsmanship associated with this style are what people loved most about it because it put great emphasis on the simple life. Many of the homes painted a light color to make them look thinner and blend into their environment. The color choice was important because they wanted to feature local materials that were very nearby such as brick, wood, and stone material from nearby rivers. This design style is often confused with Queen Anne Victorian homes but they are very different in terms of appearance and architectural style.

4. The Egyptian Revival style was popular during the Classical period of Greek architecture. They were often making replicas of great structures that were found throughout Egypt. Great pyramids, sphinxes, and obelisks are examples of these replicated structures. The architectural elements associated with this movement are very strong with bold colors, lots of stonework, and a very symmetrical appearance.
A great example of this style can be found at “The Biltmore Estate” located in North Carolina. This estate was built for George W. Vanderbilt as a summer home and it is one of the largest houses in America. The design company that was put on the project to create the home was McKim, Mead & White. They are one of the most famous American companies that have built some of the largest structures in New York City.

5. The Romanesque Revival style was made popular between 1840 and 1900 throughout Europe and America. The movement was an attempt to bring back styles that were prominent during the time period known as “Romanesque”. They used elements found in great structures to replicate, including round-arched windows, heavy stonework for entryways and staircases, and barrel-vaulted ceilings.

6. The Beaux-Arts style is often looked at as a transition from Romanesque Revival to Art Deco. It was a very popular style between 1900 and 1920. They were trying to bring back the beauty of ancient Rome as well as the beauty of Greece’s classical period.

The goal was to create a design that would be grand and larger than life. Structures needed to be symmetrical and encompass open space. Beaux-Arts designers tried to keep the focus on clean lines and they preferred using white marble over stonework. They popularized using columns for support and large open areas that gave people a sense of freedom because it didn’t look overwhelming like some of the earlier styles did. This style is most commonly recognized through the “Beaux-Arts Campus” located at Columbia University.

7. The Italian Renaissance Revival architecture style became popular during the mid-1800s and it has a lot of historic characteristics from this time period. The goal was to create structures that looked like they were taken directly from Florence or Tuscany, Italy during this specific era. These designs are very elaborate with a lot of decorative elements featuring bricked windows and columns. They have a very aspect of being “timeless” because the design is so intricate it doesn’t need to be redone or changed.

The style was a departure from the very symmetrical styles that had been popular, but they were still trying to keep a cohesive appearance by using a lot of symmetry with a single focal point. The buildings are known for their overhanging terraces and roofs that appear as though they are hanging out over the street. The designs are very ornate with a lot of detail that makes them visually stunning to look at.

A detailed look at the design of Las Vegas casinos. The exterior and interior of a casino is more than just something to look at; it’s an expression of what kind of experience you’re about to have. Las Vegas has always been one for indulgence, and that sense can be seen in every detail – from the vibrant colors used on marquees to the ornate golds and reds found throughout. A new approach was taken with these buildings though: instead of making them feel like a place of wealth and luxury, they were designed to be more general and simple. It was a deliberate decision on the part of those designing them, as it meant they could cater to more people from all walks of life-not just those who could afford to lose a lot of money.

This decision became apparent in the 1990s when many older casinos were taking a hit from real estate development outside of the city limits. They needed a new image, one that would attract their target demographic: people in their 20s through 40s with disposable income. In a 1994 article, Las Vegas Sun reporter John L. Smith said “The days of the mobster-owned casinos are gone forever.”

History of casino architecture

The “Golden Period” in Las Vegas casino architecture is from when gambling became legal in 1931 until 1960. During this time, there were roughly 18 casinos built in the city, each one trying to outdo the next with more extravagant designs and better attractions. The first hotel – a place that allowed visitors to stay rather than just gamble and drink – was The El Rancho Vegas. It opened its doors in 1941, but the owners had been planning the structure a few years before that.

The outside of this building looked like a stereotypical Hollywood version of a western town, with a sign on top depicting a cowboy riding a bucking bronco. By the late-1940s, the regulators of Las Vegas had come to realize that there were a lot more people from across America making trips to the city. They knew they needed a casino specifically for these visitors, and did so by creating The Last Frontier.

This was a step away from what everyone else was doing at this time: instead of focusing on the typical glamorous Hollywood movie-star look, it instead focused its attention on Native Americans. You can see this in the huge totem poles outside and the statue of Navajo Chief Tava at the edge of a cliff. It’s quite different from what we see today and possibly explains why so many tourists still head to Las Vegas even though they have plenty of other options. The 1950s brought a new wave of people to the casinos, this time from overseas.

The Americans who were already here had gone home for a break, and in their place were visitors from Europe – mainly France and Britain. One casino realized that they could be the perfect target audience: the Dunes resort. It was developed by a businessman named Jay Sarno; he believed that by building an exotic and mysterious-looking casino, he could draw the interest of travelers from across America and Europe. The designers took inspiration from a lot of different countries. The ceiling was done in an Indian style similar to those found in Egypt, whilst the wind towers – structures that look like minarets- were inspired by the Middle East. The outside was modeled after a Moroccan palace, and even “The Garden of Allah” -the hotel’s pool area- had design features borrowed from South America. The casino continued this trend with its flooring: there are carpeted areas, but also marble and stone surfaces like you’d find in Gaudi’s Casa Mila.

Las Vegas central artery

The 1960s brought a new audience to The Strip: they were young, liberal, and loved anything that was considered “hip”. One casino decided to take advantage of this audience. It is known as The Mirage, and it is one of the most popular casinos in Las Vegas even today; it has twice been voted the number 1 casino in America. The outside was modeled after a volcano (like you’d find in Hawaii) and inside they had a tropical rainforest complete with real plants and animals!

The owners knew that this audience loved bright interior design very much so they made sure to add plenty of features: The ceiling looks like a canvas painting, the elevators are hidden behind glass bricks, the fire show is spectacular and even the hotel rooms have modern-looking furniture. This casino took the design to a whole new level – it’s no wonder that it still has so many fans.

The Strip is where most of the action happens. Walking through the bars of Las Vegas is a real pleasure and the strongest interest of young people. But it’s preferable to get to know the casinos better before you go, for example, by playing it online at Fresh Casino. It will help you learn more about the games and your chances.

Being that this is Vegas, there are a lot of things to do inside the casinos. Each one has a selection of table games and slot machines. But most importantly, all the casinos have some sort of draw that makes them stand out from the rest. The casinos there are bright and loud, and make you feel like you’re always at the center of attention. Even if you don’t gamble, it’s worth it to go there simply for the experiences you can have. And, if you do want to gamble, you’ll be able to find plenty of options right along The Strip. So, if you ever go to Vegas, make sure you visit these places.

With all this knowledge, you’re probably wondering why casinos have such a big impact on our culture today. Las Vegas is the most popular tourist destination in the USA and it has been making significant contributions to pop culture since its inception. People from all over the world come to Las Vegas just for the casinos, shows, and clubs that it has to offer.

Has your lecturer asked you to write a design essay? Writing an essay on design can be a daunting task especially if it’s your first time. You want to write an essay that your lecturer will be impressed by and you also don’t want to fail the assignment!

Luckily writing a design essay isn’t hard, we’ve written this article to help you out. Here we cover how to write a design essay(without the help of websites that write essays for you) with an example and some further reading on the way through. Let’s get started:

1. Writing your introduction:

There are three main things that you should mention in your essay’s introduction. Firstly, introduce the reader to what design is (don’t forget to include diagrams and pictures of good design). Secondly – tell your reader why they should care about this topic. Finally, introduce your thesis statement, don’t just say it though! Make sure you explain what a thesis statement is and how it can help them understand your essay better.

“Design has been around since the dawn of civilization”

An example of modern-day ‘design’

People have been designing for centuries from fashion to architecture to computers… etc… etc… The impact of design has touched almost every aspect of human life. But do people really think about the impact of design and what they can learn from it?

The thesis statement:

People should know the importance of good design in their lives, good design is everywhere and even if they don’t think about it people need to be aware of its importance.

2. Writing your introduction part two:

Now that you have included a good introduction you need to introduce yourself too! Don’t just jump into writing about design right away. Even though this is an essay on ‘design’ you still need to introduce yourself as a writer too. You want people to pay attention to your arguments so make sure that you subtly let them know who you are and why they should read without being too forceful about it.

“Hi, my name is Peter and I love design! When people first ask to write an essay on this subject I was a little skeptical…”

An example of everyday ‘design’

There are many examples of good design in the world around us that we take for granted. Whether it’s something as simple as a chair or as complex as our own cells…etc… Design influences every aspect of human life without people even noticing so why should they care? The thesis statement: People need to be aware that there is good and bad design everywhere in their lives. Good design can increase productivity but at the same time, bad design can actually harm people physically and mentally if it’s not done properly. People should be more aware.

3. Writing the main body:

After you have written a good introduction and let people know why they should listen to you it’s time to start writing about what design actually is! Remember, don’t just state facts make sure you use examples too. If there are any types of design that you want to look at, make sure you include them in this section, for example, if the essay is on mobile phone design then obviously you should talk about that but if it’s something else then include other examples too.

“Design refers to a plan or drawing produced to show the look and function or workings of a building, garment, etc…”

An example of design in the digital age

Today, our lives are dominated by technology and designers are playing a huge role in shaping that future. Design is something that you see every day, on your computer or on your phone but do people think about why they look like they do? The thesis statement: Technology is taking over! While this does have its benefits it has come at the expense of good design. More often than not people don’t pay attention to what they buy because items of poor design stand out so much more than those with good design which is exactly why good designers are so important.

4. Writing the conclusion:

Now you must conclude your essay clearly and concisely! Make sure that you have included all of your main points in the article and that you have connected them to your thesis statement. Remember, this is your last chance to make a change so don’t be afraid to add in some final words or opinions so long as they are coherent!

“Design is everywhere in our lives without people even noticing it. We can learn so much from the design but at the same time we can also lose out if we aren’t paying attention.”

An example of everyday ‘design’

As this essay has hopefully shown readers there are many different kinds of design that affect their lives daily without them even realizing it. From technology to fashion designers are shaping who we are whether we like it or not. The thesis statement: Design is an incredibly powerful tool that can be used for good or bad purposes. Because people don’t tend to pay attention, poor design has become acceptable and while it can save time it’s also causing more harm than good. [Put your thesis statement here]

Wrapping up

Well done! That wasn’t too difficult, was it? Now you know how to write an essay on design. Remember the important points from this article and try applying them in your daily life. You might even find that writing becomes easier when applying what you have learned!

Art can mean many different things to people. Whether you are writing an essay about a specific piece of art or creating your own work of art, there are some things that almost every great paper has in common. Though one thing is for sure, there are countless art essay topics out there for students to explore. Here are top 10 art essay topics.

1. What Is Art?

This is perhaps the most important question when discussing art and its significance in our lives and society at large. Many theorists have tried to answer this very question throughout history with varying degrees of success. Think about how many times per day we come into contact with art in some way, shape, or form nowadays and how much time we spend consuming media such as movies, music, and television shows: These often serve as a creative outlet for people and serve as a time where we can take a break from the daily grind and relax.

2. Art vs. Design

There are many things that we interact with regularly that designers create. Still, not everyone realizes it: A better understanding of design can go a long way towards helping you to recognize it in your everyday life. Though art and design work will often overlap at some point, they do very different things, which is why it’s always interesting to discuss these differences so students can understand them more fully.

3. Creative Expression or Cultural Commentary?

When creating artwork, what is the message behind the piece supposed to be? Is there an intended goal, or was this simply done for the sake of doing it? This is something that artists have been trying to figure out for a very long time, and finding a way to accurately portray the ethos behind a piece can be challenging. Some think about art as a means of expressing their creativity, while others imagine it as having an intended purpose or message that they want to communicate with those viewing it.

4. The Most Influential Artists from History

There are countless artists out there who have made immense contributions towards advancing art as we know it today: Many pieces will always remain popular due to their impact on society and how influential they were at the time. This is one of many art essay topics that could prove useful when thinking about where your work fits in with what came before.

5. Getting Started with Art

Every artist goes through a rather lengthy process when preparing for a new project: This is something that they have to go through to create any lasting impact. There are many different ways that artists can prepare themselves to find inspiration or simply work on their craft so that their finished product turns out the way they intended.

6. The Relationship Between Artists and Critics

Critics play an important role in both creating art and critiquing existing work: Sometimes, this relationship works out in your favor, while at other times, you might find yourself being subject to all kinds of negative criticism about what you’ve done in the past. This often depends on who is creating the artwork, who is critiquing it, and what kind of a message they are trying to communicate.

7. The Most Influential Works from History

Are there some pieces that have managed to stand the test of time while others have been forgotten? This is often difficult for artists to figure out as their work can be subject to all kinds of outside influences: Getting your work recognized by the right people is one way to ensure that it will stand out more prominently later on down the line when history takes over.

8. What Makes an Original Work Worth Collecting?

Some artwork or other creative projects might not sell particularly well in today’s market, but at least they got off the ground: Many works may be considered “original in some sense, but their value to collectors is often downplayed due to the fact that it’s not really worth anything. This means that no one wants to go out of their way in order to collect or preserve this type of work because it’s simply not important enough.

9. Are Art Review Websites Heading in the Right Direction?

There are many different websites and other forms of technology that allow you to review art online, but some people think that this takes away from how well-respected critics can be: There are certain people who would prefer a more traditional approach when it comes to reviewing artwork either as a viewer or someone else who has been commissioned for such a purpose. Even today, many tech companies haven’t been able to successfully integrate these two concepts together with the many issues that this might bring to the table.

10. How Online Art Sales are Impacting Brick-and-Mortar Stores

There is a new trend on the rise when it comes to shopping for art pieces, but it’s slowly replacing others instead of adding onto what already exists: Many brick-and-mortar stores are closing down due to the fact that they can’t compete with online retailers who can provide lower prices and more convenient for buyers. This is taking its toll on physical galleries that sell artwork themselves as well as those independent retailers or other middlemen who try to get their piece of the pie by selling work both in-store and online at different times.
