She’s aliveeeeee!!! Indeed, though I’ve been quiet, oh so very quiet, I haven’t forsaken blogging, I’ve just been on an extended break for assorted personal reasons.
I do indeed to return to form in the near future, but in the meantime I couldn’t keep mum on the amazing Tim Walker exhibition at the Somerset House. Not only are photos of his on show, but also props and a few behind the scenes videos. A few of the props on show include the giant skull used in Tim Burton’s Tricks and Treats, and several of the plane models from Chocks Away.
Although photos aren’t allowed to be taken, I did manage to smuggle a few quick snaps for my instagram feed, which you can see here, here and here.
The outcome of going to the exhibition was that I was so enchanted with the whole thing that I ended up purchasing his new book Storyteller (I already had Pictures, so this was a nice companion piece and addition to the library). The exhibit is going to be on until the end of January, so if you have a chance, do try to see it.
And just as a quick refresher here’s a suiting Tim Walker refresher, his editorial “The Fashion and The Fantasy”, all very typically British and fantastically themed.
