What did you expect?

Another Hollywood star teaming up with a renowned photographer. David LaChapelle came out of his semi retirement (interesting interview with the man about his disenchantment with the world of commercial photography here) to shot Schweppes latest campaign with actress Uma Thurman. The result is a over the top, sea of fruity and kitschy fun called “What did you expect?”.
The live action counterpart to these ads directed by Fred & Farid sees Uma return to her Batman Poison Ivy roots with an exaggerated nasal voice and a sexy demeanor. Can’t say I like the video, the whole thing feels forced, with seemingly no connection to its print format and ends up being corny.

This wasn’t the first time Uma and David worked together though. They had previously collaborated about a decade and half ago, in 1997 for some editorial work (when Uma was rather more fresh faced and David rather more botox free I bet):
