What does a robot have in common with Chanel? Apparently, more than you can think of.
Created for Nowness by Chanel’s director of makeup Peter Philips, this animated short eschews the traditional makeup promoting devises (pretty girl looking good in a ton of makeup) and goes for a more left field approach using Chanel’s wide makeup range to create an off the wall tale.
Chanel had already exprimented with this sort of pattern like imagery in last year’s campaign for Chanel’s Popup collection.
Overall, this approach reminds me somewhat of Bela Borsodi‘s unusual work, but I quite like it and find it to be a refreshing way of tackling what can be considered a somewhat tired horse as makeup advertising.
