For someone who’s a fan of all things modern and hip, I must admit I have a rather soft spot for old school (as in really old school renaissance like) sculpture. Most modern pieces of sculpture just seem to come across to me as pretentious and belonging to ironic installations, instead of something I’d actually like to own.
Ron Rodger‘s work fortunately has no such issues, he borrows heavily of classical sculpture adding his own quirky twist to pieces. Some of the pieces end looking like something straight out of a sci-fi/mystical movie.
(and a special thanks to Joseph LaValley for sharing his find with me :)
