So, I’m going to Canada next month for a couple of weeks in vacation, and yesterday I got this panicky text message from my friend who’s going with me, because of the swine flu, and how Canada is now the 3rd country in the world with more people affected, to which I answered…well, drugs can be our friends!
This sentence I came across in someone’s Tumbler, pretty much sums up my thoughts on the case:
“90 people get the swine flu and everybody wants to wear a mask. A million people have AIDS and no one wants to wear a condom.”
I’m pretty skeptic about this whole epidemics, maybe time will me prove me wrong (I hope not), but I just feel it’s a lot of hoopla to spread panic…besides, we’ve had chicken flu, mad cow disease, fish living in oil filled seas…sorry for being so jaded this time around.
Anyway, thinking about these times of crisis, I remembered this 2008 editorial for L’Officiel Singapure by Chuando & Frey called “L’ infirmiere de la mode”…because if you have to play nurse, you better do it with style!
And btw, the model reminds a lot of Alison Goldfrapp.
MP3 = The Kills – M.E.X.I.C.O.
Free blood – Never hear surf music again…despite that title, the song makes 0 mentions to surf, it’s more about chemicals, drugs and similarities between men and women, punk funk style. Free Blood are my favorite under the radar band, I’d recommend them to anyone who likes LCD Soundsystem, !!!, The Rapture, Hot Chip. I couldn’t find an MP3 for this song, so this will have to do…
