Despite his usual dark streak (as evidenced in my previous post), Joel Peter Witkin lapsed into the world of high fashion and more traditional art (or maybe he’s just becoming more of a softy with age :) in this 2006 fashion series for the NY Times. Entitled “The history of hats in art”, the idea behind it was appropriating several famous art pieces, by giving them life with a twist and a hat!
